which is better for not losing my local customization with every new release?
I have modified my theme to be read from right to left and made some customization on style.css..
every time a new version of the theme is released I lose my customization …
what is the best solution ?
is it to create a “custom-style.css” file and upload it to my site and modified it
every time change is released ?
or is it better to create a child ??
Thanks man … wish you the best !
Hi themes again … I have created a child them and every thing is going fine … but also I have changed the name of the parent theme ….
now when you make the next release , how can I make update ?
so for bothering you … I found out how ..
I used these steps to make the changed I needed without the risk of getting things messed up:
1) Activate a different theme than the one you want to rename. For example, choose “Classic” or “Default”. If you deleted them from your themes folder, just re-upload one of them and activate it.
2) Once another theme is activated, delete the theme that you wanted to rename from your server. On your computer, rename the theme folder that you want to rename. I would also recommend changing the name of the theme in the stylesheet (where it says “Theme Name”) to the name that you just created for your folder. This will keep everything consistent and prevent people from easily seeing what theme you’re actually using.
3) Upload the new theme to your themes folder.
4) Activate the theme.
never the less , I m still have not been able to change the font type by @font type …. I don’t know whygabrielon30z 7 years ago
